Daniel Gensler, MS, CFP®, RLP®
President
Daniel G. Gensler entered the financial planning industry in 1984 with a vision of providing comprehensive financial planning to improve the lives of his clients. Dan’s ability to combine compassion with financial expertise has been the foundation of his success ever since. In 1995, Dan founded The Gensler Group, a thriving financial planning and wealth advisory firm. With 13 people now on the team, The Gensler Group has over $250 million in assets under management.
Dan has extensive experience advising individuals, families and corporations alike. He has instructed the Certified Financial Planner curriculum and is a well-known figure in his community. He earned recognition as a "Five Star Best in Client Satisfaction Wealth Manager" for 2007, as seen in San Diego magazine. He has also been recognized as one of the "Top 100 Advisors in the US" by Registered Rep magazine, and has been a featured advisor in Wealth Manager magazine. As an experienced and highly regarded wealth manager, he has been quoted in several publications, including USA Today, BusinessWeek, the San Diego Union Tribune, and the Coronado Eagle.
Dan holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and a Masters degree in Financial Planning with an emphasis in Wealth Management. He earned his Registered Life Planner® credential after rigorous training at the Kinder Institute of Life Planning. He holds Series 7, 63, 24 and 65 registrations through LPL Financial. He is a licensed agent for life, disability, and long-term care insurance.
Dan has a proven track record of delivering sophisticated financial solutions designed to nurture the core life objectives of his clients. “My greatest reward is helping clients fulfill their dreams and live their best life,” Dan says.
Dan and his wife of 19 years, Chris, along with their two daughters and dog, Cooper, live in Coronado, California. In his free time, Dan enjoys water and snow skiing, spending time with his family, playing drums, and pursuing humanitarian efforts.

Donald Faul, CFP®
Managing Director
Donald W. Faul has been a financial services professional for the past 24 years. He was inspired by a life-changing encounter with a financial planner who transformed his parents’ retirement and financial future. Since 1982, Don has had an expansive career serving in private practice, executive management, sales development and consulting. He has held executive positions with financial organizations such as AXA Rosenberg Investment Management, Citicorp Investment Services, American Savings Bank, and Home Savings of America.
Don’s broad skill set consists of business development, operations management, institutional sales, retail brokerage and insurance sales, information systems, regulatory compliance, finance, training, and business coaching. He has a proven track record of delivering sophisticated strategies and client service designed to address the financial objectives of his clients. “Quality financial advice and services are worthless without superior client care,” Don says.
Don holds a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ mark of distinction and has served as adjunct faculty for the College of Financial Planning. At The Gensler Group, he is charged with implementing the overall vision, growth, and strategic initiatives of the firm.
Don received his Bachelors of Science degree in communication from California Polytechnic State University. He holds Series 7 and 66 registrations through LPL Financial.
A native Californian, Don and his wife of 15 years, Jadi, have one daughter and one son. Don enjoys family time, church leadership, coaching, biking, snow and water sports, triathlons, reading, and effective philanthropy.

Dan O’Sullivan
Wealth Manager
Dan entered the financial services industry in 1993 after spending 23 years in Naval Aviation and earning the rank of Commander. Upon retirement, he pursued a career in line with his favorite pastime – investment and asset planning.
Because of Dan’s experience in the military, he is an expert authority on military and U.S. Government employee benefits, as well as school teachers’ retirement plans. He specializes in Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS), Federal Employees’ Retirement System (FERS), Thrift Savings Plan (TSP), Small Business Retirement Plans, solo 401(k), 403(b), college-529 savings plans, and retirement planning.
As a skilled speaker, Dan has given presentations to government, military and contract personnel at SPAWAR System Center San Diego, Ballast Point Submarine Base, NAS Miramar, as well as employees of General Dynamics, Hughes Corporation, and members and employees of Point Loma Credit Union.
Dan graduated from Texas A&M with a BS in Finance and a minor in Economics. He is an Investment Advisor Representative, holding Series 7 and 63 registrations with LPL Financial. He also holds a life, disability and long-term care insurance license (#0B06723) with the State of California.
Dan resides in Del Cerro with his wife Barbara, of 37 years. They have a daughter, Veronica, a son, Torin, and an adorable grandson. Just as Dan places a high value on the relationships he has with his family, he also appreciates the close working relationships he maintains with his clients, including individual investors, small businesses and government agencies.
Sonya Chawla
Associate Wealth Advisor
Sonya has worked for The Gensler Group since January, 2007. As the Associate Wealth Advisor, she plays a key role in supporting the client/advisor relationship. She communicates with clients and the advisors to provide the highest level of attention and care to each and every client. In addition, she is also responsible for account maintenance, new business processing, account research and trading. She has a comprehensive knowledge of broker/dealer rules and requirements. Prior to joining The Gensler Group she worked at Bill Westcott’s Office of LPL Financial in Tucson, AZ.
Sonya’s father is a financial advisor. “I was always proud to see that his clients and the community regarded him so highly,” she says. “He has an impeccable standard of ethics and delivers superb client service. His admirable attributes have been great motivators for me to become part of this industry.”
Sonya enjoys working at The Gensler Group because she admires the use of financial “life” planning skills and how it provides a sense of meaning to wealth management for clients. Sonya says, “We not only manage our clients’ investments, but we help the client to discover why their wealth is important to them and what they really want to do with it. We integrate personal ambitions into our financial planning process to reach the core desire of each client.”
Sonya holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Spanish Linguistics from the University of Arizona in Tucson. She is currently a candidate for the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification and also holds Series 7, 66, and 24 registrations through LPL Financial.
She has volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, and the Ronald McDonald House. She has also served the Tucson community as a mentor for children with behavioral problems who have been displaced from their homes. Her hobbies include traveling and gymnastics. She has visited over 15 foreign countries, is fluent in Spanish and proficient in Portuguese and French.
Dianne Davis, CFP®
Branch Operations Supervisor
Dianne joined the Gensler Group in March, 2010. She entered the financial services industry in 1999. Previously she was an Investment Associate at Merrill Lynch and a Portfolio Administrator at the New York based money manager Neuberger Berman.
Her belief in the importance of integrity and putting clients first drew her to the Gensler Group. “I feel strongly that trust and follow through is a vital part of the service we provide to clients” she said. “Developing relationships with clients is one of the most enjoyable parts of my position.”
Dianne’s educational background emphasized Communication Studies. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from UC Santa Barbara as well as a Master of Arts Degree from California State University Northridge. She also holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation as well as the Series 7, 63, 65, 9, 10, & 24 registrations through LPL Financial.
Dianne is married and lives with her husband J in Scripps Ranch with two kitties Luna & Riley. She enjoys cooking, reading and traveling in her free time.
